Road to Respite Program

Nature Moves offers a Road to Respite program to support autistic kids who find it challenging to sleep away from home. The success of this program is due to the familiarity that the child experiences in the lead-up to their night away.  There are six-day trips on Sundays throughout the term leading up to the camp. The day trips will take the child to visit the national parks, camping facilities and picnic locations so that they are familiar with the locations before attending camp. The one-night Road to Respite Camp is held Saturday night between the full five-day camps. Morning activities include kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and splashing in the lake.  Afternoon activities include exploring nearby national parks with waterfalls and gentle mountain climbs.
